Broken

Lyrics and piano written and performed by Cass
CHORUS You broke my heart in two You broke the dream of me and you And all I can say is that this is true That this is true Yes this it’s true |
I took a bus to you
Got off at a stop of our life I took a bus to your world Thinking of you for the night This is how things used to be Before you walked away from me That is all history Today it’s not what you will see CHORUS |
You never loved me like I loved you
You never loved me like you’re supposed to do You never understood the world of love that grew The world that grew before you You never held my hand like I held it for you You never felt the way that I felt for you You just lied to me, not telling the truth And that problem just got bigger and grew CHORUS |
Our Own Van Hise
Words & Music by Randal Swiggum, sung by the 5th grade class of 2015
Words & Music by Randal Swiggum, sung by the 5th grade class of 2015
Charles Van Hise, the boy from Wisconsin,
Curious, kind, with a mind ever after wisdom, Planting seeds, pulling hard for the harvest, And his name was Charles Van Hise. To be a teacher, a scholar, a scientist, Faithful friend, open heart and open eyes, Humble start, yet a friend to the President, And his name was Charles Van Hise. And when Charley was a boy, he pondered the future, With a world to explore, ev’ry book an open door, for learners into leaders grow. |
And so we stand in the light of a legacy,
Hand in hand, let voices and hearts arise, To sing the praise of a name we’ll remember: Our school, our own Van Hise. Many nations walk these halls, these bright halls of learning, Many doors open wide bidding welcome inside, where learners into leaders grow. And so we stand in the light of a legacy, Hand in hand, let voices and hearts arise, To sing the praise of a name we’ll remember: Our school, our own Van Hise. Ever knowing, we are growing to be curious and kind and wise, We’ll remember you, our own Van Hise! |

What am I Fighting For?
by Ingrid and Maddie
by Ingrid and Maddie
It’s been awhile since you’ve turned on the light.
It’s been awhile since you’ve won the fight. Chorus What am I fighting for? I don’t know anymore. Now we’re back to where we parted; the battle's won but ours just started. Why did I ever lose you? Why did i ever choose you? |
CHORUS You walk away You walk away without anything to say, and now I’m here all alone behind the door because I forgot what I’m fighting for. What am I fighting for? |

CHORUS
If I'm not myself who am I? Well that’s a question no one can reply Oh if i'm not myself who am I? Well I'm just gonna keep on asking why. Oh I just wish I could rewind back to that time of peace and glory where I knew where I was going. There really is no way to explain this, can't find myself, in this big mess I can't walk down the street and play along, when I know that something is wrong |
CHORUS I will take any chance that I can, just put my feelings aside and become a man Don't judge your self by your shirt or your shoes you can do anything that you choose. Don't let anyone push you around or throw you down onto the ground. You have the power to choose your own path; you have the power so don't live in the past. |

CHORUS
Flowing, fore’er flowing, Coming’ to the sea, Flowing, fore’er flowing. Won’t come back to me. Traveling from pond to lake, Goin’ to the sea. Memories for e’er more, Won’t come back to me. CHORUS |
Storm clouds are passing,
Going over the sea. Skies full of darkness, Won’t come back to me. There’ll be thunder; and rain, Way out on the sea. But time will pass on, And won’t come back to me. CHORUS |
Storms moving on,
Out past the sea. Moments remaining, Won’t come back to me. CHORUS Behind all the grayness, O’er the sea. There’ll be blue sky, Which always comes back to me. Which always comes back to me. |

I'm done with the knives and I'm done with the spears I have the words now what do they mean? I'm done with fear I'm done with fear

The war is over the battle is won
now I’m standing, standing in the sun I’m done with everyone saying I’m not good enough But look at me; I’m a diamond in the rough I’m done with fear I’m done with fear |
Don't let them tell you there’s not enough time
Don't let them tell you you can’t shine----- We're ok; now's the time Realize now we'll be just fine... I’m done with fear I’m done with fear I'm done with fear I'm done... with fear |

Walking up the Steps
by Simon
by Simon
Note from the Composer:
I came up with the basic melody a few years ago. Since then I've gotten better on the piano and been adding more parts to the song. Sometimes I'll put the parts in different order. If I play it twice it may not be exactly the same.

Come Back to Me
by Charlotte
by Charlotte
CHORUS
Once you were mine, but you just walked away. We spun round and round, and I wish you'd stayed. So I say, I wish upon a star every day, for you to come back to me! Well I guess I should have said goodbye, but it seemed like you were coming back, but now you're gone, and I'm stuck here. |
CHORUS I convinced you stay a little longer, but I guess time was up and you have to go, you didn't even say goodbye! But I'll keep on wishing that you'll come back! 'Cause I missed my chance and I want one more! CHORUS |

The Unwanteds - original composition by Henry
Henry composed an original score to capture the tone of a specific point in the story, The Unwanteds by Lisa McMann.
Here is his description:
Alex Stowe is thirteen. Every year in Quill, the thirteen year-olds are sorted into categories: the wanteds, the necessaries, and the unwanteds. When the High Priest Justine calls off the names of the wanteds and necessaries, Alex is not one of them. He heads for the bus that will take the unwanteds to the Lake of Boiling Oil. This is the part of the story captured by the song.
At the lake, Alex awaits his death. The Death Farmer comes closer to the unwanteds. Suddently, a huge tortoise with wings flies out of the sky. The unwanteds discover a magician named Mr. Today and his hidden world of magic and creativity.
