Top Players and Moments of the NFL through week 14 in 2014
by Amin
Hey, you wanna find out who I love in the NFL? Read this to find out!
Now to start of with one of the best, ARIAN FOSTER. He ran for 151 yards, 2 TD’s (including a receiving TD), and a 100 yard rushing gain, helping take his team to victory against Tennessee. He also had 100 rushing yards; man this guy is amazing!
This next man is classic beast mode!!! Can you guess who it is? Marshawn Lynch! In the game against the Raiders, Russell Wilson handed the ball off to Lynch, and he plowed his way through as his teammates were pushing him into the endzone! Seahawks won 24-30 in week 9.
One of my old fashioned favorites is CJ Anderson! In the game against the Dolphins, he broke a franchise record for the most yards ran in a game! He is the Bronco of all Broncos!
My favorite running back of all time is Jamaal Charles! He made touchdowns all day as the Chiefs obliterated the Patriots 41-14. He carried the ball 15 times for 232 yards and 3 touchdowns! That is awesome!
Now we’re spiraling through quarterbacks, the first being Ben Roethlisberger! On Sunday night, when they faced the Colts, he threw 6 Tds, a Steeler franchise record! And in the game against the Ravens, Big Ben threw 6 touchdowns again!
All hail the living legend, Peyton Manning! In the game against the 49ers, Manning broke Brett Favre’s record for the most touchdown passes. He hit the bullet pass to Demaryius Thomas for his 509th touchdown pass of his career!
Russell Wilson is the Seahawk Savior! In the game against the Rams, Wilson scrambled for 52 yards, when his current record was 29 yards!
The leader of the pack, Aaron Rodgers, was on fire against the Eagles! He threw for 304 yards, 3 Td’s and no interceptions! My gosh, that is incredible!!! I sure think he should be in the Hall of Fame.
Do know who’s next? Yep, you guessed it! Touchdown Tom, also known as Tom Brady. He led his team to being best in the league in scoring!
Let’s get to the wide receivers! Demaryius Thomas was the receiver that was key to Peyton Manning’s record breaker. He scored twice as the Broncos rallied to win against the 49ers.
Emmanuel Touchdowns, has unbelievable skills! I like to call him that. He stated that in the week 6 game against the Chargers, it was his night. He had 9 receptions, 151 yards, and three touchdowns! That is unbelievable!
Kelvin Benjamin, a legendary rookie, is my favorite! When the Panthers played the Seahawks on Sunday, Cam Newton bombed the ball across the field, and Benjamin climbed high as he caught the ball for a 50-yard reception. He did it over Sherman and Thomas, two of the best! And trust me, you don’t see that every day.
Big play CJ is back! Megatron is in the game! When the Lions battled the Bears, they were losing by 11 points, no big deal. But in the 1st quarter, Matthew Stafford threw a bullet to Megatron, and he caught it with one hand over 2 defenders! He had 333 yards, 4 TD’S, and 16 receptions in that miraculous game against the Bears on Monday night.
Now lets get tackled into defensive ends, linebackers, and cornerbacks! Von Miller, a powerful linebacker who led the Broncos defense to 3rd in the league, completed 10.2 sacks! Keep an eagle eye out for Von, he likes to dance too!
Clay Matthews is a classic! In the game against the Eagles on Sunday night, he had a sack and 5 tackles. He also defensed a ball and swatted it away.
JJ Watt is incredible this year! He talked his way into playing some offense too. In the game against the Browns, Watt had a one-handed grab for a touchdown! And on Sunday, he scored AGAIN against the Titans, his 4th one this year. Heck, pay him a billion dollars for those catches!
Anthony Barr is a amazing linebacker! In the Game against the Buccaneers, he stripped the ball (stripped is when you rip the ball out of someone’s hands), scooped it up, and ran it to the endzone for a touchdown. The Vikings won 19-13 in overtime.
Chris Harris Jr. is amazing! In the game against New England, Tom Brady bombed it to Gronkowski, but Harris leaped and picked it off one-handed! Patriots won over the Broncos 44-28.
Haha Clinton Dix is a game saver. When Gronkowski caught the ball in midair, he started falling to the ground as Clinton Dix ripped the ball out of Kowski hands, sealing it for Green Bay.
Ready for the kickoff? Josh Huff, a punt returner for the Eagles, broke the franchise record for the most yards in a punt return in Eagle history. Josh Huff also ran a record-breaking 107-yard touchdown in a game against the Titans.
We obviously can’t forget the most outstanding punt returner and wide receiver for the New England Patriots: Julian Edelman! When they played the Broncos, he ran a shocking 99-yard punt return for a touchdown in Gillette field. He tore up the defensive line!
The Lion King of Detroit is Golden Tate. He has an average of 62.7 yards per punt return. Not many punt returners can do that! He has at least 2 touchdowns per game! He is also a wide receiver.
Let’s tighten up the game with the tight ends, starting with Jimmy Graham Cracker, an amazing Saint. In the game against the Steelers, he caught a short pass and tricked two defenders for the game’s winning touchdown, the score being 26-23.
Rob Gronkowski is the most feared tight end in the league! When New England played the Packers, Gronk caught a one yard pass! But he stiff armed (pushed away) 3 defenders as he was brought down at the 2-yard line.
We can’t forget Antonio Gates, a tight end for San Diego. At the end of the Ravens game, there were only 30 seconds left, when there was a short pass to Gates. He burst into the endzone! The Chargers came from behind to knock off the Baltimore Ravens 33-34.
Richard Rodgers loves packing his opponents into the ground. In the game against the Patriots, he had 2 touchdowns, 200 yards, and 5 catches. He is one of the best tight ends in the whole league.
How did Green Bay lose to the Bills? Aaron Rodgers wasn't playing his best. He even got sacked 2 times! But the Bills do have one of the best defenses in the NFL. Jordy Nelson dropped 2 easy passes and a couple of other ones. The score was 13-21. Packers are still 10-4 and the Bills are 8-6 so we do have a better record than they do. But our chance of going to the playoffs just got cut in half. (10-4 means won 10 games, lost 4 and 8-6 means won 8 games and lost 6.)
The Chargers took a beating when they lost to the Broncos 22-10. Peyton Manning was on fire, despite fluish symptoms and a helmet in the gut while he was blocking.
This shows the world what football is all about, and the best players in the league!
