Pollution Solution
In this song, we focus on environmental awareness. It made an impact as we won the Isthmus Green Day elementary division, got some air time on local radio station WOLX, created a business, and raised $1000 for solar panels at Hamilton Middle School.
We don’t wanna be mean, we don’t mean to accuse.
But too many people give the world a bruise. Thanks to Nelson we celebrate Earth Day. Isn’t that great? Yeah, but that’s just a start. To make a deep impact, we must all take part. Broader awareness - tread with fairness. It matters to all countries whether near or across the seas, from humans down to fleas, from a blade of grass up to the trees. CHORUS Here we are; we’re here to say we love the environment in a major way. So, everybody, listen to the news. We’re trying to recycle, reduce, and reuse. Once you’re used to it, it’ll be a breeze. We’ve got a few ideas – try these. Ride your bike or take a hike, instead of hoppin’ in the car when you don’t have to go far. If you carpool, you use less fuel. And that makes you cool, ‘cause its less cruel. Listen to Gus. He says, “Hop on the bus! It’s better than 20 cars driving upon the earth’s crust.” No need to argue, no need to fuss. |
There’s another solution you might not deduce - purchasing locally grown produce.
The less traveling distance, the less damaging instance of burning the air with a gas-using stare. Besides lowering the pressure, the taste will be fresher. Check out what’s in store. Ask your local locavore! CHORUS You might not believe why you need to rake the leaves. If they get washed away our lakes will turn grey. Please protect them; they gotta stay. If you don’t switch off the light, it'll be a pullution fright. To prevent the air from turning dark as night, we should make the goal to burn less coal. Consumption of electricity - let's hold back at least an itty bitty. Water’s so scarce its starting to get scary. Don’t waste the water of the city by letting it run for eternity. |
CHROUS We all agree we rely too much on oil. If that doesn’t change we surely will spoil our chance to stop global warming. Better listen up; it's our final warning! Don’tchya know, fossil fuels have to go. Hopefully soon we’ll see alternative forms of energy like wind, hydro, or solar. Maintaining the ice caps hangin’ out polar at the ends of earth where they belong, instead of melting away to a sad song. CHORUS This is our path. We're not gonna stray. Say. What will you do today? |
